Three new COVID-19 cases confirmed yesterday; Tally stands at 1,880

Only three positive cases of coronavirus have been detected on Friday (12), says the Ministry of Health.

Two of them are naval personnel who are undergoing quarantine at the facilities in Mullaitivu and Vidaththatpalai. The remaining patient is a returnee from Qatar at the Ampara quarantine centre.

On that account, Covid-19 infections confirmed in Sri Lanka reached 1,880.

Meanwhile, the recoveries tally hit 1,196 as 46 more persons who had contracted the virus recovered from the disease yesterday. They were receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital (09), Colombo East Base Hospital (12), Iranawila Hospital (01), Kattankudy Base Hospital (10), Welisara Navy Hospital (03) and Minuwangoda Base Hospital (11).
The Epidemiology Unit’s tally reads that 673 active cases are currently under medical care.

The death toll due to COVID-19 currently sits at 11.
